ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Successful enrolment into this course requires participants to be able to successfully complete a language Literacy and Numeracy test or have the equivalent knowledge and understanding at a minimum Year 10 standard.
COURSE SUMMARY
The successful achievement of this qualification requires you to complete all 2 core units. You will also be required to undertake vocational placement in an approved setting.

Continuing opportunities will be offered to Health Coaches with practical considerations and support.
COURSE OVERVIEW
There is a gap in life expectancy between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians. More than 70% of this gap is due to chronic health conditions.
Health coaching has a strong evidence base for improving health outcomes in vulnerable populations like First Nations people. This includes health coaching facilitated by First Nations people themselves.
As a leading example, Health Coaching was successfully implemented in First Nations Primary Health Care (PHC) settings across North America.
Like North America, Commonwealth and State/Territory Health Ministers in Australia support a strategy to improve opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia’s remote health workforce. Importantly, there is broad support for the strategy from leaders in Aboriginal communities.
